Just recently we reported that Tag Heuer dumped Tiger Woods. Less than two months later, Tiger has rekindled his relationship with Rolex. According to sources, Woods and Rolex agreed to a deal that is at least five years in length. Financial considerations were not disclosed.
It is a curious time for Rolex to sign Woods. Rolex likes to associate itself with champions (Roger Federer, Phil Mickelson, etc.). Tiger has been anything but a champion recently. In addition, as we all know, Tiger doesn’t have the best reputation. Maybe Rolex was able to land Tiger at an amazing discount – let’s be honest, Tiger’s asking price MUST be at an all time low. Yet he still has many more years of golf ahead of him and it’s certainly possible that he will regain his dominating form. Rolex may have just signed the best golfer of all time. (Anyone think that there’s a morality clause in the contract?)
Buy low, sell high. Right?
