Presidents weekend was busy in Tinseltown with one celeb-studded event after another, and we were happy to catch a glimpse of more than a few watches in the process. Check out Hip-Hop artist Flo Rida (in nerd glasses!), Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez, international soccer superstar David Beckham, and fashion designer (and former MTV reality star) Whitney Port- all rocking some high-end wrist-wear:
Our Celebrity Watch for the week of June 6, 2011-
As all of you know, there are two fashion trends dominating Hollywood (okay, there are probably more than two): Audemars Piguet watches and nerd glasses. We blogged about this WEEKS ago (and then again more recently). Well, US Weekly is finally catching on. In last week’s issue they did a spread on celebrities and their nerd glasses. Check it out:
So the question is – will they do a spread on Audemars Piguet watches soon? I hope so. (And btw – I disagree with several of the results).
I would love to see Audemars Piguet win the battle for Hollywood’s hottest fashion accessory – however, these nerd glasses just won’t disappear. Guys and girls are wearing them. Young and old are wearing them.
Perhaps it was a bit ambitious to hope that a $20K+ watch would catch on as a hot fashion accessory. Maybe we’ll have to lower our expectations to a brand with a slightly lower price tag.

As our loyal readers know, there’s a huge fashion battle going on in Hollywood between Audemars Piguet watches and nerd glasses. As of right now, the battle is pretty even. However, there’s one more vote for nerd glasses, and this one may sway the younger crowd. Fortunately, the younger crowd probably doesn’t have the means to afford Audemars Piguet watches. The battle rages on!!!
The latest supporter of big, thick, black-rimmed glasses is Justin Bieber. Check out the young crooner promoting his new book in LA. Click on the thumbnails for larger images (although the glasses are pretty large already).
A couple of questions:

As all of you know, there’s a fierce trend battle going on in Hollywood – it’s nerd glasses versus Audemars Piguet watches. The battle has been back and forth. You’ve got heavy hitters like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher wearing nerd glasses.
But…you’ve got heavy hitters like Jay-Z wearing Audemars Piguet.
Then you’ve got mega-stars like Justin Timberlake wearing BOTH!
Of late, it seems like that nerd glasses have been gaining momentum. But not so fast – young recording artist Trey Songz was recently spotted wearing an Audemars Piguet watch.
So, the battle lives on another day! (Let’s be honest – the nerd glasses may stick around for a while, but the Audemars Piguet watches will be here forever).

Justin Timberlake showed up to the Paris premier of The Social Network rocking his favorite pair of nerd glasses. I assume that he’s also wearing an Audemars Piguet watch, but it’s pretty obvious – nerd glasses are now the favorite accessory of many of Hollywood’s stars.
So nerds out there rejoice – the spotlight is yours. (Lay off the white tape in the middle though – no stars are going that far).
And btw…I did take a bunch of computer science and math courses in college…and I did well. So, I’m a nerd too.

In the previous post, we asked – “Which trend do you think is cooler? Audemars Piguet watches or nerd glasses?”
Well, JT has done nothing to help settle the debate. Last week he was wearing an Audemars Piguet watch.
This week he’s wearing nerd glasses. I guess the debate will rage on. Although one thing is clear – nerd glasses and Audemars Piguet watches are all the rage in Hollywood.
Also, is there anyone out there that can send me a pair of nerd glasses (with clear, prescription-free lenses – I don’t want to get dizzy wearing them). I’ll send you a t-shirt in exchange. Let me know! (And by the way – I just need one pair).

Yesterday I wrote a blog on two hot celebrity fashion trends – Audemars Piguet watches and old-school black, thick-rimmed nerd glasses.
Today, I found two more pics of celebs wearing nerd glasses. It looks like nerd glasses are a hotter trend than Audemars Piguet watches. Or maybe it’s just winning the trend battle because glasses are a lot more affordable than Audemars Piguet watches.
The first photo is of (new) 90210 star Shenae Grimes. The second is of uber-couple Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. But you knew that.
I don’t wear glasses, but I might have to start…nerd me up!
