Michele Deco Diamond Chronograph
Thursday, January 19th, 2012Women are wearing big, fun watches these days. Michele was one of the first watchmakers to take advantage of this trend. They offer high quality watches in bold, fun designs. They also make it easy to change the straps on the watches in case women want to change up their look – black one day, red the next.
One of our favorite Michele watches is the Deco Diamond. I know that we have a lot of favorites, but I actually bought this model for a female family member, so I am speaking with my wallet!
This model is both fun and elegant. Sure, it’s on the large size, but the diamonds and mother of pearl dial add sophistication.

Cartier Says that the Ballon Bleu is its Best Selling Watch
Wednesday, January 18th, 2012Cartier recently reported that the Ballon Bleu is its best selling watch. That was no surprise. For months we’ve been gushing about how much we love the line. Check out all of our blogs on the Cartier Ballon Bleu.
What was a surprise was Cartier’s explanation of why the line is doing so well. Here is the explanation given by Chief Executive Officer Bernard Fornas: “Bigger watches are losing a bit of ground today. When you are in crisis periods you show off less and you have shapes that are more discreet and more ergonomic. The feel-guilty factor is very important.” Read the entire article here.
I understand that he’s the boss and has access to plenty of consumer research, but I disagree with him. The Ballon Bleu is doing well for two main reasons:
1. It looks amazing.
2. Celebrities are wearing it, giving it more exposure.
If his explanation is true, why did Rolex recently start making larger Datejust models? And why is Audemars Piguet doing so well?

Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph 09668
Tuesday, January 17th, 2012We know what you’re thinking – Montblanc is a luxury pen company. Well, that was true until 1997. In 1997 the company entered the watch game. Shortly thereafter they introduced the Timewalker series. We think that they have a hit on their hands. The line is both elegant and sporty.
Check out the Montblanc Timewalker Chronograph below. It is model number 09668. Some people refer to this model a 7069 – you’ll notice that number on the caseback. However, according to Montblanc, that number is “a technical reference number that refers to the movement of your time writing device. It is not identical with the model number…The number 7069 is used by Montblanc internally to identify the clockwork.”
This particular model is 43mm and has a gorgeous exhibition back. It retails for $5,300. It is available on eRelyx for just about half of that!!!

Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph CW2113-0
Monday, January 16th, 2012I LOVE this watch. The Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph has been a favorite of mine for a number of years. I love the blue dial. I love the square case. And I love the blue leather strap. This watch just screams for attention.
This particular model is the CW2113-0. It has a Calibre 17 automatic movement (an ETA-derived movement for the watch nuts out there). Tag Heuer recently introduced an updated version of this watch. The newest Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph (CAW2111) has a Calibre 12 movement with an exhibition back. The new model also has a MUCH larger price tag – $5,600!!
The model that we have at eRelyx is available for $2,925. The watch is essentially brand new – never been owned by a consumer. However, since it has been tried on several times, we feel more comfortable selling it as “like new.” Either way, it’s in fantastic condition.

Breitling Colt II Chronograph
Thursday, January 12th, 2012Yesterday we blogged about one of our favorite Breitling watches – the Breitling Navitimer World. It’s a big, imposing watch. If you’re looking for something a bit less conspicuous, the standard Navitimer model is a good option. It’s under 42mm, as opposed to the 46mm case on the Navitimer World.
You may also be interested in a less expensive Breitling – both of the Navitimer models are over $6,000 at retail. In that case, the Breitling Colt II Chronograph is a great option. Because it has a quartz movement, the retail price is $3,180. However, it still has the sporty, bold Breitling look without sacrificing quality.

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012We just added one of our favorite watches to our inventory – a Breitling Navitimer World. This watch it bold. It makes a statement. It’s a man’s watch. And there is no way that it won’t turn heads.
This model is not for the weak of heart. It’s a whopping 46mm. And all of the activity on the dial will make some people dizzy – it is a chronograph with GMT functionality and a circular slide rule. It’s busy – but we think busy is beautiful.
