eRelyx Lululemon

The eRelyx team made an interesting discovery recently – our office is in the same building as one of the very early Lululemon Athletica offices.  Never heard of Lululemon?  Well, head to your local gym and do some research.  They make yoga pants for women (Okay, they make some other stuff – but it’s less important).  The pants look great!!! Don’t do too much research though – you don’t want to get kicked out of the gym.

So we were thinking – this office space must be the launching pad for amazing businesses.  Lululemon is publicly traded and worth over $7B.  eRelyx will be there soon!

Here’s a snapshot from the Lululemon website.

eRelyx Reviews – Used and Pre-owned Luxury Watches

eRelyx Reviews

We recently noticed that several people were getting to the eRelyx website by googling “eRelyx Review.”  As a relatively new business, we don’t have formal reviews on Yelp, CitySearch, or Insider Pages.  We hope to build up those third-party reviews soon!  Customer service is extremely important to us!  Everyone should feel comfortable calling (617-536-1900) or emailing us (contact@erelyx.com) with any questions.

In the meantime, here are some reviews from our customers.  They can also be found on our About Us page.

Alli: “The eRelyx team helped me pick out a great Panerai watch for my husband – he loves it!  The process was very easy and the team at eRelyx was friendly and responsive.  I highly recommend them!”

Aydin: “Thanks again for all of your assistance throughout this process – you’ve been incredibly helpful and have saved us a lot of money!!!!”

Cindy: “I love my new Cartier Tank!  It is in perfect condition, and eRelyx was incredibly easy to do business with.  I highly recommend eRelyx.”

Elizabeth: “I had such a great experience purchasing my Cartier Tank watch through Greg.  He was incredibly patient with me and answered all of my questions in a very low-pressure way.  I absolutely love the watch and am so glad that I went through with the purchase!  Greg really knows his stuff and I trusted him at every step of the way.”

Bob: “Excellent Customer Service and Attention to Detail, especially for a relatively inexpensive watch. I’ll be in the market for a pre-owned Rolex in the next few months, and I’ll definitely keep eRelyx in mind.”

Julia: “There isn’t much that Greg doesn’t know about watches.  He understood exactly what I was looking for and helped guide me through each step of the purchase process.  He even went out of his way to make sure that I received the watch by Christmas given a relatively tight turnaround time.  I highly recommend making any purchase through eRelyx!”

Daniel: “I’m so happy I used eRelyx to purchase my watch. Carrie helped me through the entire process, answered all my questions and even hand delivered my watch to me. They not only got me a great price on my Omega but they had incredible customer service as well.”

Michael: “Greg not only knows watches, he knows service and has effectively transformed online watch shopping from a transaction to an experience, and I ended up with a great watch!”

John: “All about customer service and customer satisfaction.  Greg went above and beyond to help me find the perfect IWC watch.  I am absolutely amazed with Greg’s knowledge of watches and even more impressed with his sound advice and countless emails and phone calls to make sure I was happy with my purchase.  In addition to the best-in-class service, eRelyx helped me get an incredible deal on my watch.”

Addison: “I love the watch. So much better than expected, and I had high expectations. I’m a [pre-owned] convert.”

Elizabeth: “Greg walked me through the entire process of purchasing a watch for my husband for our first wedding anniversary. From providing preliminary information about brands and watches in different price ranges, explaining the pros and cons of purchasing new or pre-owned, and sharing his personal opinions about various watch features, Greg’s quality customer service made an overwhelming process easy and fun! Greg jumped through hoops to get the watch to me in time for our anniversary trip. I could not possibly have picked out such a great watch without him, and my husband is thrilled with his gift! I can’t say enough good things about eRelyx’s customer service!”

Stephen: “I must say I am truly impressed. [eRelyx has] gone above and beyond any retailer I have ever done business with. I appreciate the extra effort, gifts and personal attention to detail!!!!”

“Cocktails for a Cause”

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Last night the eRelyx team and upwards of 100 young professionals in the Boston metro area came out to the posh Liberty Hotel for “Cocktails for a Cause” hosted by the Boston chapter of GOTO (Giving Opportunities to Others).

GOTO is a charitable organization that seeks to enrich the lives of promising, underprivileged middle school students by immersing them in art and music. GOTO hosts several of events, like Cocktails for a Cause, throughout the year to raise money, encourage philanthropic awareness and enable networking amongst Boston’s young professionals.

As a part of the GOTO event last evening, eRelyx hosted a table where party-goers were able to view an amazing display of some of our favorite watches, (as well as try them on!), and speak directly with eRelyx Founder & CEO, Greg Pope. Attendees also beat the heat (a whopping 94 degrees!) by enjoying refreshing cocktails (like the delicious watermelon margaritas) and live music from local Reggae artist, Cubby Love.

All in all, it was a hugely successful evening, and the eRelyx team had an amazing time supporting this great cause! A special thanks to GOTO for inviting us & helping to spread the word about eRelyx!

You want our opinion? You got it.

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Oftentimes customers will ask us for our opinion on a watch – and we’re not afraid to give it to them. There’s nothing worse than a salesperson that always says, “I love it” or, “That looks amazing on you” when you know it’s not true.

Can you blame the salesperson? Not really. They’re trying to make a sale.  But that “looks-great-no-matter-what” approach is somewhat short-sighted. For example, let’s say that you’re trying on a shirt at a local clothing store. You think it looks pretty good, but you’re still on the fence. A salesperson walks over and tells you how great it looks. You decide to buy it.

You wear the shirt for a couple of weeks and begin to realize that it doesn’t look great on you. Maybe your friends point and chuckle.  The shirt finds a permanent home in the back of your closet. When it comes time to go out and buy another shirt, you’re hesitant to go back to the original retailer because your experience was sub-par. On top of that, you’re not recommending the original retailer to your friends.

What’s the takeaway? A salesperson should focus on increasing the number of satisfied customers – not just the number of customers.  Focusing on satisfied customers will likely pay off in the long run.  Salespeople want their customers to wear their new shirt all the time, rave about it to their friends, and come back when it’s time to buy another shirt.  (Plus – it feels good knowing that you made someone happy!)

If you want our opinion on a watch, we’ll give it to you.  Are we always right?  Nope.  Watches are such a personal purchase.  At the end of the day, YOU need to love the watch.  But we’re here to help think through the purchase.

Here comes an opinion: The mid-size Rolex Datejust Turn-o-graph is a GREAT first watch for women. (There are variations on the dial color and band style).

Rolex Datejust Turn-o-graph

Here’s why:

1. It’s a Rolex – if you buy a pre-owned model, you should feel pretty good about it holding its value over time.

2. It’s a great size.  Women are wearing large, bold watches these days.  Many women are wearing 40mm watches – a size once reserved for men.  However, there’s no guarantee that this trend will last forever.  The Turn-o-graph, at 36mm is a great compromise.

3. The watch is classic, but still offers some “flair.” The red second hand and red date is such a cool added feature.  It’s like the red soles on a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.  Do the red soles have any functionality?  Nope.  Are they fun and noticeable?  Yep. I’ve never worn a pair (I swear), but I bet women get an extra boost of confidence because they ARE fun and noticeable.

4. It’s versatile.  You can wear it with a suit.  You can wear it with jeans.  You can wear it with shorts.  You can wear it with long sleeves and short sleeves.  It will go with almost any color clothing.  It will always look natural.  If you have one amazing watch, versatility is key!

So – what do you think?  We’re curious to hear YOUR opinions.  After all, your opinions are more important than ours!

“Wes Welker” Wears eRelyx Hat?

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Yesterday was a rough day for Patriots fans.  The team never got into gear.

The loss was a double-whammy for all of us over at eRelyx HQ.   Our favorite team lost AND Wes Welker will be doing fewer interviews since his team was eliminated.  That means we’re less likely to see Wes wearing his eRelyx hat on national TV.  (As our loyal blog readers know, we are trying to get Wes to wear our hat during interviews, around town, etc.  Check out our letter to Wes here)

Don’t worry…we have a back-up plan.  Check it out.  (If this doesn’t sell watches, I don’t know what will!)

Creative Marketing?

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

How many websites are there? A few hundred thousand? Millions? Whatever the number is, we can all agree that it’s BIG.

So as a new business, how do you get people to your website? It’s not an easy task. Sure – Google, Facebook, and Twitter help, but most businesses are using those techniques, making it difficult to stand out.

What about hiring a celebrity to endorse your product/service? Great idea. Bring your checkbook. Word out on the street is that people like Kim Kardashian get $10K just to Tweet about your business. For example, eRelyx could hire Kim to tweet, “I just bought a new watch from eRelyx. The service was amazing. The watch is gorgeous. No one notices my backside anymore.” (Was that under 140 characters?)

eRelyx would love to have celebrities and athletes endorsing our business. So how do we do it? We write them nice/funny letters asking them to wear our hat. We recently left the following note along with a hat on New England Patriots star wide receiver Wes Welker’s doorstep. We haven’t seen him wearing it yet…but we’re hopeful that he will. Anyone know him personally? Can you help? Let’s make this happen!!!  (Click on the letter for a larger version)

Wes – did you get my hat and letter?  Did it fit?  Let’s talk.

Benefits of Buying and Selling on eRelyx

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

An eRelyx Facebook fan recently asked, “What is the difference between your website and eBay?”  GREAT QUESTION.  We have a tremendous amount of respect for eBay – it is an amazing company.  However, we believe that there’s a better, smarter, safer way to buy and sell luxury watches.

The benefits of using eRelyx depend on whether you are a buyer or a seller.  We will address each individually.

Buyers

  1. 1.   Confidence that every watch is 100% authentic.  eRelyx has all of its watches authenticated by Shreve, Crump & Low, the original manufacturer (e.g. Cartier), and/or another authorized watch dealer.  While eBay has made great strides in reducing the number of counterfeit products on their site, they have not disappeared.  See actual real feedback below:

  1. 2.   Original pictures of the actual watches for sale – every time.  eRelyx takes its own pictures of all of the watches on the site.  Actual pictures are extremely important for pre-owned products.  On eBay, certain sellers use stock photos or “borrow” photos from other sellers.  Click on the images to see larger versions – and notice that the time on the watch is the EXACT same.

  1. 3.   Accurate descriptions of the watches for sale.  Everyone has a different opinion of what “like new” or “excellent” condition means.  At eRelyx, we share the guidelines for how we determine the condition.
  1. 4.   A return policy.  We offer a return policy on every watch we sell.
  1. 5.   A phone number.  Do you have a question about a watch?  Feel free to email us OR call us.  Sure, email is great.  But sometimes it’s nice to speak with someone over the phone.
  1. 6.   Great customer service.  We recently sold a Chanel J12 watch that came with an extra link.  When our customer notified us that he needed a new pin to attach the link, we tracked down the appropriate link, purchased it, and sent it overnight.

Sellers

  1. 1.   eRelyx does the majority of the work for the sellers.  We authenticate your watch, clean it, photograph it, create a description, post it, answer buyer questions, sell it, and ship it to the buyer.
  1. 2.   More money for your watch.
    1. a.   We work with established jewelers and manufacturers to guarantee that the watches on our site are 100% authentic, attracting more buyers and allowing them to bid with confidence.
    1. b.   eRelyx provides a return policy to the buyer, attracting more buyers and allowing them to bid with confidence.
    1. c.   If sellers have a limited track record on eBay, it may be tough to get fair market value for a watch.  When a seller has a limited track record, buyers tend to bid with caution.  See examples below (note that the more experienced seller does not offer returns, yet still received more for his/her watch):

  1. 3.   eRelyx will market sellers’ watches through multiple channels.
    1. a.   Through the discussion forums that we sponsor.

    1. b.   Through our social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter.

    1. c.   In certain cases, eRelyx will sell watches through our jewelry store partners’ brick & mortar stores.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!

Real. Holiday.

Monday, November 29th, 2010

‘Twas the eve of Thanksgiving and all through the house plenty of creatures were stirring (not including a mouse).

The stockings were hung by the fireplace with care, in preparation that eRelyx soon would be there.

The lights were strung, glowing green, blue and red, while visions of watches danced through our heads.

The team with their cameras and the model in her dress, had just settled in for a long winter’s…PHOTO SHOOT.

We kicked off the holiday season early last week with a very-merry eRelyx Photo Shoot!

Our model enacted scenes from what would be the best Christmas ever- playing dress-up with some of our favorite watches like a Panerai, Chanel J12, and Rolex.

Check out the Gallery below with a sneak peak at some of the uncut shots and keep on the lookout for the finished ads as they run through out December!

Premiere Event: The eRelyx Launch Party

Monday, October 25th, 2010

On Friday night eRelyx and Shreve Crump & Low, America’s oldest jeweler, hosted the eRelyx launch event in celebration of www.erelyx.com, which will go live on Friday, November 5th!

It was a fantastic evening with an incredible turnout! About 100-150 guests came out to the Shreve, Crump & Low storefront on Boylston street in the heart of Back Bay to honor eRelyx and enjoy the sparkling ambiance created by the dozens of display cases showing off the store’s high-end selection of jewels and luxury brand watches.

Party-goers were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres from Max’s Ultimate, a full service catering company in the Boston area (www.maxultimatefood.com), and a Johnnie Walker sponsored whiskey bar, generously donated by the folks at Diageo, which served up delicious cocktails professionally mixed by a “Master of Whiskey.”

At the end of the evening, guests went home with “swag bags,” stuffed to the brim with goodies from the best Boston has to offer. The gift bag treats included gourmet chocolate samples from local chocolatier- Vianne Chocolat (www.viannechocolat.com), a voucher for a free mind and body class at Exhale (www.exhalespa.com), an exclusive discount on one spa treatment at the luxurious Newbury Street location of Emerge salon & spa (www.emergespasalon.com), $10 credit towards one of the male grooming services at the hip Barbershop Lounge (www.barbershoplounge.com), a gift certificate for free appetizers with cocktail purchase at Dante (www.restaurantdante.com), in the Royal Sonesta Hotel, the namesake restaurant of Boston’s star chef- Dante de Magistris,  as well as a 30% discount on any purchase from Boston-based retailer- Dressed by Christopher Cuozzo (www.dressedbycc.com), whose classic custom apparel for men and women is both chic and distinctive.

The event was truly amazing and everyone there had a great time. We at eRelyx are infinitely grateful to our fabulous hosts, Shreve, Crump & Low, who went above and beyond to ensure that the night was a huge success! (www.shrevecrumpandlow.com)

Even though the party is over, the eRelyx launching process has just begun! Keep your eyes on our site (www.erelyx.com) as we count down to our big debut when we go live on November 5th!
