Re-edition watches are all the rage these days. Hamilton decided to jump on the bandwagon with a re-edition of their 1971 Hamilton Pan Europ Chronomatic. The new movement is the Hamilton H31, which is a modified Valjoux 7750 movement with a 60 hour power reserve. Although the re-edition is similar to the original, there are a couple of noticeable differences – the first one being the larger 45mm case. The original was only 42mm. The other major difference is that the crown is on the right hand side on the re-edition – a much more familiar spot for watch enthusiasts. Check out the difference between the two watches in the photo below (photo courtesy of Hodinkee).
These watches are VERY difficult to find in stock. The re-edition is limited to 1971 watches and retails for $1,971 (if you can find it!). This is a very unique, attractive watch – it’s no surprise that it sold well.

Jennifer Aniston showed up to the LA Premiere of Wanderlust looking as beautiful as ever. However, she made me cry a little bit. Do you see why?
Bracelets on both arms. No watch. What?!?! How could you do that to us? You have so many amazing watches. Bracelets look great. But watches look great and tell time. Therefore watches are superior to bracelets.
Dear Jennifer – please wear a watch to your next red carpet event.
Presidents weekend was busy in Tinseltown with one celeb-studded event after another, and we were happy to catch a glimpse of more than a few watches in the process. Check out Hip-Hop artist Flo Rida (in nerd glasses!), Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez, international soccer superstar David Beckham, and fashion designer (and former MTV reality star) Whitney Port- all rocking some high-end wrist-wear:
We’re getting warmed up for 2012 eRelyx Watch Madness. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Check out this image – 2011 eRelyx Watch Madness. You’ll get the idea.
Before the tourney gets underway, we will have a “Brand Battle” here and there. Today’s battle – Panerai vs. Breitling. If you had to chose one brand, which one would it be?
Every once in a while we browse the competition’s websites to check on pricing or to find an amazing deal.
And occasionally we stumble across some interesting listings. Case in point, the listing below. Check out the screen shots – these are actual photos from an online watch retailer.
Cute little guy…or girl…not sure. Click on the images for larger versions.
Recording star Ne-Yo showed up to the Los Angeles premier of “Think Like a Man” wearing a great looking watch. The problem is that we can’t identify it! We thought is might be a black dial Rolex Milgauss, but then we caught glimpse of the black inserts on the bracelet. We’re stumped. Any ideas?
